While a British summer can be quite unpredictable weather-wise, winter doesn’t usually hold many surprises and guests will be expecting cold weather, removing any stress on the bride and groom to put contingency plans in place. While a winter wedding doesn’t necessarily mean a Christmas wedding, many venues will have festive décor in place that can be incorporated into your theme, and of course dark winter evenings will create the loveliest atmosphere. Or consider dressing the exterior of your venue with snow covered Christmas trees that can be decorated in jewel-rich colours, with a sleigh for the perfect festive element. Winter wedding food ideas
Guests at winter weddings will appreciate warming, comfort food and there is no better winter wedding food than a traditional, three course roast. Start with a hearty French onion soup, followed by fillet of pork with roasted vegetables and then finish with liqueur tarts or homemade tiramisu. With a fine dining menu that can be bespoke tailored to suit you and your guests, the choice is yours. Alternatively, for evening guests, an old fashioned hog roast will hit the mark on a chilly winter’s night.
Keep your guests warm and dry
Plan an overspill area where guests can go for a quiet sit down away from the music and entertainment in the main venue.
